Cooking 4 Life Skills program supports people with a disability to learn the valuable cooking skills which can lead to a fulfilling independent life. The program is designed to meet and suit individual learning needs and capabilities, and to support the transition into independent living.
We teach persons with a disability how to acquire the skills associated with cooking. The program is designed to teach life lessons that you will need everyday, such as shopping for food, creating a meal for yourself or others and managing your time and money.
”Having a child of my own with needs and a psychology background has enabled me to be able to teach him how to cook. With this academic and life experience, I wanted to create a space where I could, along with other qualified support educators, design a program so that anyone can learn the different aspects of literacy, numeracy, socialisation and employability in not only the food industry, but in life”
