Goal planning with participant and family are discussed during consultation times. We endeavour to ensure that participants and family’s goals are met and expanded upon.
We enhance interpersonal relationships by creating scenarios that involve tentative listening, working as a team, time and money management, numeracy skills, and literacy skills with reading and comprehending recipes. Participants will look at various types of writing, including recipe Books, newspapers, magazines, television and Internet.
Numeracy skills in the Cooking 4 Life Skills program provide the participant with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge to use functional numeracy in everyday life. For example: using simple measurement for temperature, weight and numbers.
